The colors in the Indigo Color Scheme (藍染色系) are inspired by “aizome” or Indigo Dyed textiles. Lennon Tool Bar hopes to revitalize the popularity of this traditional trade.
Lennon Tool Bar Nahu (納戶) fountain pen ink is a lighter blue color. The name comes from a governmental position, “nando kata,” of the Edo Bakufu in Japan. Nahu was designated the color of this specific position’s uniform.
Lennon Tool Bar was founded in 2014 at Tamsui, Taiwan. Initially they produced and promoted the art and craft of Indigo Dyeing, a business that flourished a century ago when Taiwan exported a considerable amount of “doroai” — or the raw material of colorants used in Indigo Dyeing — to the Japanese Empire. In recent years, Lennon Tool Bar has launched a series of fountain pen inks in order to popularize colors used in Indigo Dyeing and to present the enduring beauty of traditional workmanship.
